LISA CREGAN: This living room is like a Parisian salon teleported to Greenwich, Connecticut. Why French?
ANNE MILLER: I wanted it to be really, really dressy--but not fussy. I love French furniture but I didn't want to see a lot of legs. I wanted the room to take you to another place but still feel inviting, and I think the lines of the French furniture are fun. For example, the pair of bergeres in the living room have a lot of movement in their lines. They are more dramatic than if I had chosen two straightforward wing chairs, which would be the English equivalent.
